Using an Absorbent Material

The first step to removing a wine stain from wool is to blot it with an absorbent material such as paper towels or a clean cloth. Be sure to blot gently and press down firmly so the stain will be absorbed into the paper towel or cloth.

Using White Vinegar

Once you have blotted stain with an absorbent material, it's time to move on to white vinegar. Pour some white vinegar onto the stain and let it sit for 5 minutes. After that, rinse the area with cold water. Once you have rinsed the area, be sure to dry the wool garment by lying it flat.

Using a Sponge

If the vinegar method doesn't work, you can use a sponge to remove the stain. Start by dampening a clean sponge with cold water and gently dabbing it onto the stain. Rinse and repeat as needed until all of the stain is gone. Rinse the dirtied sponge in cold water after each use.

Using Non-Gel Toothpaste

Another effective way to remove a wine stain from wool is to use non-gel toothpaste. First, place a small amount of the toothpaste directly onto the stain. Rub the toothpaste onto the stain with a clean cloth and then let it sit for 10 minutes. After that, rinse off the toothpaste with cold water. Finally, lay the garment out flat to dry.
