How to Easily Remove Wine Stains from Sweaters
Wine stains can be unsightly and difficult to remove from sweaters without the right techniques. Fortunately, with the right steps, you can easily remove those stubborn stains and restore your sweater.

What You'll Need
- Cold water
- A mild laundry detergent
- White vinegar solution
- A damp sponge
Instructions
- Immediately soak the stained area with cold water to prevent the stain from setting
- Apply a small amount of mild detergent to the area and gently massage it into the fabric
- Rinse the sweater with cold water until the soapy solution is gone
- Mix a solution of one-part white vinegar and two-parts cold water and lightly dab the stain with a sponge
- Repeat steps three and four until the stain begins to fade
- Once the stain has been removed, rinse the sweater in cold water, squeeze out the excess moisture, and place it on a flat surface to air dry
Additional Tips
- If possible, try to tackle the stain as soon as it happens to prevent it from setting.
- Try not to apply too much pressure when scrubbing the stain.
- If stain persists after the initial cleaning, use a stain remover specifically designed for stubborn stains and repeat the steps above.
