Before taking any action when it comes to cleaning the red wine stains from your silk habotai, you need to start by making sure all the excess liquid has been removed from the fabric. Dab at the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel, without rubbing or pressing too hard into it. This is the best way to prevent the red wine moisture from penetrating deeper into silk habotai and setting stain in the fibers.
One of the most efficient ways to tackle a red wine spill is to use white vinegar. Start by using two parts cool water and one part white vinegar, mix it in a spray bottle and gently apply the mixture on the stained area. Allow the solution to sit for a couple of minutes and then dab at the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel. Repeat this process until the stain is completely removed.
If white vinegar fails to remove the red wine stain from your silk habotai, you can also try using detergent. Start by diluting one tablespoon of mild detergent into two cups of warm water, mix it well and use a clean sponge or cloth to gently apply it on the stained area. Rinse with cold water and then allow the fabric to air dry.
You can also try other solutions such as hydrogen peroxide, lemon juice, club soda, or even salt. Just make sure to never rub or press too hard against the fabric when applying a cleaning agent on it, as this could damage the delicate habotai.
