Before You Begin

  • Read garment's care label for any special instructions.
  • Gather materials: white cloth, hydrogen peroxide, liquid detergent, salt, and cold water.
  • Lay your garment flat on an absorbent surface.

Step 1: Blot Stain

Using a white cloth, gently blot up as much of the wine as possible. Do not rub or scrub the area, as this could damage fabric.

Step 2: Hydrogen Peroxide

Mix one part hydrogen peroxide with three parts cold water. Dab the mixture onto the stained area using a white cloth, making sure not to saturate the fabric.

Step 3: Liquid Detergent

Mix one teaspoon of liquid detergent and one tablespoon of salt in one quart of cold water. Gently dab mixture onto stained area with a white cloth.

Step 4: Rinse

Rinse the affected area with cold water and blot away any excess moisture.

Step 5: Dry

Lay the garment flat on an absorbent surface and allow it to air dry.
