What You’ll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Dish detergent
  • Old toothbrush
  • Soft cloth

Instructions

  1. Mix white vinegar and baking soda together.
  2. Create a paste using mixture.
  3. Apply the paste directly to the stain.
  4. Gently scrub paste into fabric using an old toothbrush.
  5. Let the paste sit for up to 30 minutes.
  6. Rinse paste off with cold water.
  7. If the stain still persists, apply a small amount of dish detergent to the stain and rinse off with cold water.
  8. Allow the shoe to air dry.
  9. Once dry, wipe the entire shoe with a soft cloth.

Tips

  • Always test the product on a hidden area of shoe before applying it to the stained area.
  • Don’t use hot water – this can set the stain.
  • To avoid stains in the future, be sure to apply a waterproofing spray or a stain guard to your shoes.
