Removing Red Wine Stains From Scrubs

The fast-acting nature of red wine stains can often make them difficult to remove, especially if spilled on fabric. Here are some steps to help you remove red wine stains from medical scrubs:

  1. Blot the stain with a rag or paper towel. Do not rub as this can cause stain to spread.
  2. Mix a solution of one part dish-washing liquid and two parts cool water.
  3. Apply the solution to area. Let it sit for a few minutes before blotting the stain again.
  4. If any stain remains, mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and cool water. Apply the solution and let it sit for 15 minutes before blotting again.
  5. If no stain remains, rinse the area with cool water and allow it to air-dry.

Important Tips to Keep in Mind

  • Always use cool or cold water to clean red wine stains, as hot water can cause stain to set into fabric.
  • Do not put medical scrubs in the washing machine before attempting to remove the stain; this could cause the stain to become permanent.
  • For best results, repeat steps 2-5 as many times as necessary to ensure the stain is completely removed.
