Removing red wine stains from clothing can be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be. If you have a sarong with a red wine stain, here’s what you need to do:

  1. As soon as possible after the spill occurs, blot the affected area with a clean cloth or paper towel.
  2. Once the liquid has been blotted away, sprinkle stain with cornstarch, baking soda, or talcum powder.
  3. Allow the powder to sit for at least 30 minutes (longer is better).
  4. Gently brush off the powder with a soft brush or sponge.
  5. Using a clean cloth, apply a bit of rubbing alcohol directly to stain.
  6. Let rubbing alcohol sit for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Rinse the area thoroughly with cool water.
  8. If the stain persists, repeat the above steps until it is gone.
  9. Let sarong air dry or use a low setting on the dryer.

Following these steps should help you remove any red wine stains from your sarong. If all else fails, consider taking the garment to a professional dry cleaner who will have the necessary equipment and cleaning solutions to tackle stubborn spots.
