No one wants to have a permanent red wine stain on their favorite Prada clothing item. A stubborn stain can be extremely hard to remove, but with the right tools and tips, it doesn't have to stay forever. Whether you’re dealing with a persistent spot or just spilled some red wine, here are some steps to follow to clean wine stains from Prada.
The very first step is to blot the stain with paper towels. Do not rub the stain - this will only cause it to spread. Start blotting stain from the outside inwards in a circular motion to absorb as much liquid as possible.
Once you’ve removed as much of the liquid as possible, you should pre-treat the stain with a stain remover. It’s best to use a product designed specifically for tough stains on delicate fabrics. Gently rub the stain remover into the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes.
After the pre-treatment has had time to work its magic, machine wash your garment according to the instructions on the tag. Make sure to use a mild detergent that is specifically formulated for delicate fabrics, as well as cold water. You may want to run the delicate cycle to avoid agitation.
After the wash cycle has finished, lay the garment flat to air dry. Never put delicate fabrics in the dryer as the high temperatures can cause shrinkage. Once the garment is completely dry, check to see if the stain is still visible.
If the stain is still there, then repeat the process until it is no longer visible. It is important to take your time and be patient when trying to remove stains. The more persistent the stain, the longer it will take to completely remove.
