The key to cleaning wine stains from your polo shirt successfully is to act quickly. As soon as you realise that you have a stain, grab a clean paper or cloth towel and immediately blot the stain. This will help to absorb some of the excess liquid and lessen the intensity of stain.
Once you’ve blotted the stain, make sure to rinse the area with cold water, then apply a little laundry detergent directly onto the stain. Rub in small circles with your fingers or a soft bristled brush. Then, let treatment sit for around five minutes.
When five minutes are up, rinse area again with cold water. Then, you can either launder your shirt in a standard wash cycle using cold water, or you can spot-treat it with a bleach-based product.
If the stain still persists after laundering, try pouring a mixture of one part white vinegar and one part water directly onto the affected area. Let the solution sit for about five minutes before rinsing the shirt with cold water. Repeat the process if necessary.
By following these steps, you’ll be able to get rid of those pesky wine stains from your polo shirt and have it looking like new once again!
