Getting red wine stains out of piqué fabric can be challenging, but it's not impossible. The key is to act quickly and find the right way to tackle the stain before it sets.

What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Club soda
  • Dish soap
  • Borax
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Cotton balls
  • Old toothbrush

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. First, blot the spilled wine with a dry cloth or paper towels to absorb as much of the liquid as possible.
  2. Mix equal parts white vinegar, club soda, and a few drops of dish soap together in a bowl.
  3. Soak a cotton ball in mixture and dab at the affected area. Be careful not to rub the fabric, as this may set the stain further.
  4. If the stain remains, mix 1 part borax with 2 parts hydrogen peroxide and stir until it forms a thick paste.
  5. Apply paste to the stained area using an old toothbrush, making sure to cover the entire stain.
  6. Let paste sit for 10-15 minutes and then rinse with water.
  7. If necessary, repeat the process until the stain is completely gone.

With these simple steps, you can effectively remove red wine stains from piqué fabric and enjoy your garment again.
