The first step to removing red wine from your parka is to blot the stain with a paper towel. This will help absorb some of the liquid, making it easier to treat the stain. Place a clean, dry towel on top of the stain and gently but firmly press down on the area. Repeat until no more liquid comes up on the towel.
Next, you'll want to pre-treat the stain with a detergent. For this step, you can use either a store-bought detergent such as Woolite or a homemade solution of dish soap and water. Simply apply a few drops of the detergent directly onto the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, take a soft-bristled brush and gently scrub the area to work the detergent into the fibers.
Finally, it's time to spot-clean the stain with a cloth. Take a clean, white cloth and dampen it with some cold water. Gently dab the stained area using cloth. Be sure to use an up-and-down motion in order to avoid spreading the stain further. Keep repeating until the stain has been removed.
With these three steps, your parka should be stain-free and looking good as new! It's important to remember to be gentle when working with delicate fabrics like parkas. If the stain persists, try repeating the steps a second or even third time until stain is fully removed.
