Removing a wine stain from overalls can be tricky and daunting, but it doesn't have to be. Here are a few easy tips and tricks for cleaning wine stains from your favorite overalls:
Immediately after a spill, start by blotting area with a paper towel or clean cloth. This will absorb any excess liquid and help prevent the stain from spreading.
Mix together a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent with a few tablespoons of white vinegar. Spread the paste onto stained area, gently rubbing it into the fabric. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
After the paste has set for approximately 10 minutes, rinse off the area with cold water. Then, launder the overalls as you normally would. Be sure to check the overalls before placing them in the dryer, as heat can set a stain.
If your overalls are made of delicate fabric, consider spot treating with a mild solvent-based cleaner instead of making a paste. Also, make sure to test any type of cleaner or detergent on a small, inconspicuous area of the garment first to ensure it won’t damage the material.
