When dealing with red wine stains on joggers, it is important to act fast. The sooner you tackle the stain, the better your chances of getting it out. Start by soaking up as much of the wine as possible with a cloth or sponge.
Then, make a mixture of 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon liquid laundry detergent and one quart warm water. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and dab stained area. If necessary, use a scrub brush to help get the stain out. Remember to be gentle; don't rub too harshly as this can cause the fabric to pill or fray.
Once stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water and lay the garment flat to dry (avoid using a dryer as this can set the stain). As an extra precaution, hold the fabric up to a light to make sure the stain is completely gone.
If stain persists, you may need to treat it with a commercial stain remover. Be sure to read the instructions carefully before applying and always test on a hidden part of the fabric first. Keep in mind that some fabrics may require professional treatment, so if the stain still doesn't come out after several attempts, it is best to take your joggers to a dry cleaner for further assistance.
