Removing Red Wine Stains

The most common type of wine stains are red wine stains. Fortunately, they are also among the easiest to remove. The first thing you need to do is try and absorb the excess liquid as quickly as possible by blotting the stain with a paper towel.

Once you have got all the visible liquid off the jersey, you can start treating the stained area. The best material to use is a white cloth, such as an old t-shirt or towel. Soak the cloth in white wine vinegar, then dab the stained area until it is clean.

Once stain is removed, rinse the area with cold water. Gently wring out the fabric and hang it up to dry. If the stain still persists, repeat process until it is gone.

Getting Rid of White Wine Stains

White wine stains can be slightly more difficult to remove than red wine stains, as they tend to leave a pale yellowish discoloration behind. Fortunately, the process for removing them is pretty much the same.

Start off by blotting the stain with a paper towel, then treat it with a white cloth soaked in white wine vinegar. Rub cloth gently until the stain disappears, then rinse the area with cold water. Hang the jersey up to dry and repeat the process if necessary.
