Wine stains on jacquard fabrics are one of the most common and easily removable types of stains. This is because jacquard fabric is made from tightly woven yarns and has a rougher texture than other materials, allowing for easier stain removal.

What You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Borax
  • Ammonia
  • Old toothbrush
  • Sponge
  • Clean cloth
  • Laundry detergent

Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step to removing any stain is to blot the area with a clean cloth. This will help remove any excess liquid and lessen the size of the stain.

Step 2: Mix a Cleaning Solution

Mix together equal parts dish soap and white vinegar in a small bowl. Gently stir the mixture until it is combined, then apply a small amount to stained area with a sponge.

Step 3: Scrub the Stain

Using an old toothbrush, gently scrub the stained area. This will help break up the stain and loosen it from the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse the Stain

Rinse the stain with lukewarm water, making sure that all traces of the cleaning solution have been removed.

Step 5: Treat the Stain with Ammonia

Using a mixture of one tablespoon of Borax and one cup of ammonia, apply mixture to the stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing again with lukewarm water.

Step 6: Launder Fabric

Once all traces of the stain have been removed, it's time to launder the fabric. Add a small amount of laundry detergent to the fabric and machine wash as usual.

Step 7: Dry the Fabric

Finally, dry the fabric according to the instructions on the care label.
