The first step for cleaning wine stains from headbands is to quickly blot away any excess liquid with paper towels. By doing this, you can prevent the stain from further soaking into the fabric. It may take several towels to absorb the liquid, so be sure to have plenty on hand.
Once you’ve blotted away any excess liquid, you can begin soaking your headband in white vinegar. This is one of best natural ingredients to help break down and remove stubborn stains. Simply create a solution with equal parts white vinegar and water, then soak the stained area for 30 minutes.
After you’ve finished soaking the headband in white vinegar, it’s time to wash the area with detergent and warm water. Gently scrub the stained area with a soft-bristled brush, then rinse off with warm water. Be sure to thoroughly lather and rinse headband several times so that no residue remains.
The last step for properly cleaning your headband is to air dry it. If possible, hang the headband outdoors in direct sunlight. Doing this will help to naturally brighten and whiten fabric. If you cannot hang it outside, you can also lay it flat on a towel or drying rack indoors.
Cleaning wine stains from headbands doesn’t have to be a dreadful task. By following these four simple steps, you can easily rid your headbands of pesky red stains in no time!
