If you find yourself with a glass of red wine in one hand and a hair tie in the other, consider yourself fortunate! You can use the red wine to actually help you get rid of pesky wine stains on your hair ties. Here’s how:

  • Lay out the stained hair ties on a paper towel.
  • Pour a small amount of red wine over the stains.
  • Let the hair ties sit for about 15 minutes.
  • Rinse the hair ties well with cold water.
  • Let the hair ties air dry.

It’s as simple as that! In most cases, the stains should be completely gone after this simple process. If not, simply repeat the process until stain is lifted.

Remember: This trick will work best on fresh stains. For older stains, soaking the hair ties in a mixture of baking soda and water for 30 minutes before repeating the process may help lift stain.
