Step 1: Blot the Stain

Using a soft clean cloth, gently blot at the stain. Do not rub or scrub, as that may cause the stain to spread. Continue blotting until all of the excess liquid is gone.

Step 2: Pretreat the Stain

Mix a solution of one part dish soap with two parts cool water. Dip the soft cloth into solution, then apply directly to the stain. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.

Step 3: Soak the Stain

Fill a sink or bucket with cool water and add liquid laundry detergent. Fully submerge the stained area of the guipure lace fabric in the solution, then allow to soak for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with cool water until all of detergent is gone.

Step 4: Repeat if Necessary

If stain is still present after completing the first three steps, repeat steps 2 and 3. Be sure to take a short break of about five minutes between each cycle of soaking and pretreating.

Step 5: Air Dry

Lay the guipure lace fabric flat on a towel, then allow it to air dry. Never use a dryer, because the heat may cause the stains to set permanently.
