Do you recall old adage “fighting fire with fire”? Well, when it comes to wine stains, white wine and salt can be used to effectively remove red wine stains without harming the delicate material of your garter. First, pour some white wine on the stain and then use a teaspoon of salt to rub into area. Leave this for about 5-10 minutes before rinsing the mixture away with cold water. Repeat this process if necessary.
Baking soda and vinegar have multiple purposes in cleaning and are great solutions for getting red wine stains out of your garter. Create a thick paste by combining equal parts of baking soda and vinegar. Supplement this with a few drops of liquid dish soap for extra power. Using a damp rag, rub the paste into the stained area, making sure to get deep within the stain. Leave the paste on the stain for at least 20 minutes before rinsing it away with cold water.
Using rubbing alcohol is a very effective way to remove red wine stains from garter. Put one teaspoon of rubbing alcohol in a cup of cold water, stir it, and pour it over the stained area. Then, use a clean rag to dab at stain. This should lighten or remove the stain without damaging the delicate material. After scrubbing away the stain, rinse area with cold water.
With a little elbow grease and some simple household items, you have the ability to easily remove red wine stains from your garter. Whether it is white wine, baking soda and vinegar, or rubbing alcohol, these methods are all great options for restoring original look of your garter.
