The most important step is to blot the stain as soon as possible. Use a clean, white cloth or paper towel to do this - do not rub it in or use a colored cloth as it will transfer color.
Mix a teaspoon of mild laundry detergent with two cups of warm water, and then apply it to the stained area. You can use a soft bristled toothbrush to help scrub the mixture into the fabric. Do not rub, just lightly brush in the direction of the fibers. Once you are done, rinse the fabric with cold water.
White vinegar is known to be effective at removing wine stains from fabrics. Mix a cup of white vinegar with two cups of cool water, and then soak the stained area for 15 minutes. After the soak, rinse the fabric in cold water, and launder it as you normally would.
Baking soda can also help with removing wine stains from fabrics. Mix together two tablespoons of baking soda and one teaspoon of water to form a paste. Gently rub the paste into stained area, let it sit for 15 minutes, and then rinse in cold water.
Rubbing alcohol can also be used to remove wine stains from fabrics. Dilute one part rubbing alcohol with one part water and then apply it to the stained area. Let it sit for 10 minutes, and then rinse in cold water. Be sure to test this solution on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first to ensure that the color won't run.
Removing wine stains from Fila doesn't have to be a hassle. With a few simple steps and common household items, you can keep your Fila looking great!
