Materials Needed

  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Soft toothbrush
  • Clean towels

Step 1: Soak the Earplugs in Dish Soap and Water

Mix together some warm water and a few drops of dish soap in a bowl, then submerge your earplugs in the mixture. Let them soak for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Remove Stains with Vinegar

Remove earplugs from the bowl and lightly scrub the stained areas with a soft toothbrush dipped in white vinegar. The vinegar will help to breakdown the stains without damaging the material.

Step 3: Rinse the Earplugs

Rinse the earplugs with clean, warm water to remove any residual vinegar or dirt. Make sure the earplugs are completely dry before moving onto next step.

Step 4: Sprinkle Baking Soda on the Stains

Sprinkle some baking soda on the stained areas, then use the soft toothbrush to gently scrub the stains. The baking soda will act as an abrasive, helping to lift the stains from the material.

Step 5: Clean and Dry the Earplugs

Use a clean, soft towel to wipe away the baking soda and remaining dirt, then lay the earplugs out flat to dry. Once completely dry, your earplugs should be good as new!
