Corduroy is a popular fabric choice for clothes, home decor, and accessories because it's soft, durable, and stylish. Unfortunately, these qualities also make corduroy vulnerable to stains, including wine. Luckily, with some quick action and right cleaning supplies, you can remove wine stains from corduroy and get your fabric looking as good as new.

Step 1: Blot Up the Spill

The first step when cleaning any kind of stain is to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Have a stack of paper towels nearby and use them to dab up the liquid. Don’t rub or scrub fabric; this could damage the fabric and make it harder to remove the stain.

Step 2: Pretreat the Stain

Once you’ve blotted up the liquid, you’ll need to pretreat the stain. This can be done by applying a small amount of stain remover to the affected area and allowing it to sit for 5-10 minutes. Then, blot the area with a clean paper towel to remove the remover and any residue.

Step 3: Wash the Fabric

You can then machine-wash the fabric according to the care instructions. Use a mild detergent and cold water, and avoid using a hot dryer; if the stain isn’t completely removed, the heat could set it. If Wine stain isn't gone after the first wash, repeat the process.

Step 4: Spot Clean the Stain

If stain still won’t come out after washing, you may need to spot clean the area. You can make a homemade solution by mixing one part rubbing alcohol and one part water, and then dab the mixture onto the stain with a cloth. Allow the solution to sit for several minutes before rinsing the area with cold water. Keep in mind that you should always test the solution on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first to make sure it doesn't cause discoloration.

Conclusion

While wine stains can be tough to remove, especially on fabrics like corduroy, they don’t have to be permanent. With right approach and a bit of patience, you can get rid of stubborn Wine stains and keep your fabrics looking their best.
