Gather Your Supplies

Before you begin, make sure you have all the supplies you’ll need to clean your Chantilly lace. You’ll need a bowl of cold water, white vinegar, a soft cloth, and a gentle detergent.

Soak the Stain

If your Chantilly lace has been stained with red wine, the first step is to soak the stain in cold water. This will help to prevent the stain from setting. Allow the stained fabric to soak for at least 15 minutes before proceeding.

Prepare the Cleaning Solution

Once the stain has been allowed to soak, prepare a cleaning solution by mixing 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 cup of cold water. Dip a soft cloth into the solution and wring out any excess liquid.

Clean the Stain

Gently dab the stain with the damp cloth, using light pressure. Don’t scrub the fabric, as this could cause it to become damaged. Once the majority of the stain has been removed, rinse the cloth and repeat the cleaning process.

Use Detergent on Tough Stains

For tougher stains, mix 1 teaspoon of gentle detergent with 1 cup of cold water. Dip a soft cloth into the solution and apply it to the stained area. Gently scrub the fabric and then rinse with cold water. Repeat the process if necessary.

Air-Dry the Fabric

Once stain has been removed, allow the fabric to air-dry before wearing or storing it. Lay the Chantilly lace flat on a towel and leave it in a well-ventilated area until it is completely dry.
