Stains from red wine can be removed from cashmere by using a few simple household items you may already have on hand. Here’s what you’ll need:
First, rinse the stain with cold water as soon as possible. You should try to remove as much of the wine as you can. Once the stain is soaked, prepare a mixture of one tablespoon of white vinegar, one teaspoon of mild liquid detergent and two cups of warm water.
Dip a clean cloth into this solution and apply it directly onto the stained area. Blot the area gently with the cloth until the stain starts to disappear. If the stain persists, use a sponge soaked in a mixture of warm water and baking soda. Apply it to the stain and leave it there for a few minutes. Then, rinse the area with cold water.
After trying the above steps, check the area and if necessary, repeat the process until the stain is gone. Finally, place a layer of absorbent towels over the stain and weigh them down with something heavy overnight. This will help draw out any remaining moisture.
With a little patience and right approach, you can get rid of wine stains from cashmere fabric. Use the tips and instructions above to keep your clothes looking their best.
