If you’ve ever spilled wine on canvas, you know it can leave a stubborn stain that won’t budge. Luckily, there are a few methods you can use to remove those awful-looking stains. Here are some tips and tricks on how to remove wine stains from canvas:

1. Blot the Stain Immediately

The first step to removing a wine stain is to blot it immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel. Do not rub stain or you may spread it further. You will also want to use a white cloth or paper towel so that you do not transfer any dye onto the canvas.

2. Pretreat with Cold Water and Detergent

Once you have blotted away as much of the wine as possible, pretreat the stain with cold water and a liquid detergent. Work detergent gently into the stain using your fingertips or a soft brush. Let the detergent sit for 5 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water.

3. Use Vinegar and Baking Soda Paste

If the stain still persists, create a paste of vinegar and baking soda and spread it over the stain. Allow this mixture to sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes before wiping it away with a damp cloth. Repeat this process until stain is gone.

4. Spot Clean the Area

Finally, spot clean area with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent, 1 cup of warm water, and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar. Work the mixture into the stained area and then rinse it away with cold water. Allow the canvas to air dry completely.

These methods should help you to remove wine stains from your canvas without damaging the material. If all else fails, your best bet is to take your canvas to a professional cleaner.
