The first step is to grab a cloth and blot the stained area as much as possible. Doing so will help to minimize the size and severity of the stain. Then, depending on the type of fabric your blouse is made of, you'll need to use one of the following cleaning methods:

  • Cotton: For cotton blouses, mix a tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of hot water.
  • Viscose: Begin by mixing a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid with two cups of cool water. Then, add two teaspoons of white vinegar.
  • Synthetic Fibers: If your blouse is made of synthetic fibers, mix a tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of hot water.

Once you have mixed the appropriate cleaning solution, submerge the affected area into the water and let it sit for up to 30 minutes. Once this time has passed, rinse the area with cold water, and then launder the blouse as you normally would. For best results, be sure to use a color-safe detergent.

If you find that the stain is still present after washing, try using a commercial stain remover or a mixture of baking soda and water. Dip a cloth in the mixture, rub it into the stain, and then rinse with cold water. Launder your blouse again and you should be good to go!

And there you have it: a few easy tips to help you get rid of pesky wine stains from your blouse. With a little bit of patience and persistence, you can erase any evidence of accident and keep your clothing looking as good as new.
