Removing wine stains from your blazer can be tough, but not impossible with the right supplies and know-how. To start, scrape off any excess residue from the stain. Be careful not to spread the stain further, but rather to remove what has already seeped into fabric fibers. For wet stains, blot them with a white absorbent cloth or paper towel.
Next, mix together one tablespoon of white vinegar, two tablespoons of liquid dish soap, and one quart of warm water. Make sure to get a good lather going with the mixture. Afterward, use the soapy cloth to dab the stain, starting from the outside and working your way inward. Scrub lightly with the cloth, then rinse with cold water to remove the soap. If the stain remains, mix together one tablespoon of ammonia and one cup of water. Blot the stain with the mixture and allow it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing the area with cold water.
If any stain still remains after the above steps, mix three tablespoons of baking soda with one-half cup of warm water. Apply the paste to the stained area and let it sit overnight. In morning, gently rub the paste using a wet cloth and rinse it off. Once stain is removed, lay the blazer down on a flat surface and let it air dry.
Following the above steps can help you effectively remove any pesky wine stains from your blazer. It may take patience and persistence, but with the right technique, you can easily restore your clothing item back its original state.
