What You’ll Need

  • Club soda or white wine vinegar (not both)
  • Cotton ball or soft cloth
  • Soft brush (optional)

Step 1: Absorb the Liquid

If the stain is still fresh, start by blotting up as much of the beverage as possible. Use a cotton ball or soft cloth to soak up the spill, making sure to press gently to avoid pushing the liquid further into the fabric.

Step 2: Apply Club Soda or Vinegar

Depending on the material, you’ll want to use either club soda or white vinegar to gently clean the stain. For leather and suede belts, pour a small amount of club soda directly onto a cotton ball or soft cloth, then dab the spot gently to prevent any discoloration. If belt is cloth or synthetic, use white vinegar instead.

Step 3: Let Dry and Brush

Give the affected area time to air dry completely. Once it’s dry, brush away any remaining residue with a soft brush or damp cloth. If you’re working with a delicate fabric, like silk, hand wash with a mild detergent.
