If the red wine stain is still wet, quickly rinse it off with hot water as soon as possible so that it doesn’t set in. Once you’ve blotted stain with a paper towel, apply a generous amount of strong detergent onto the area. Leave it on for around 10 minutes before rinsing it off with hot water. Repeat this process until the stain disappears completely.
If the stain is still visible after washing with hot water and detergent, use a cotton ball to lightly dab a mixture of 1 part bleach and 4 parts water onto the area. This will help to lighten the stain, however, beware that it may also fade the color of apron so take extra care when applying the bleach.
If the stain is still slightly visible after treating with bleach, pour a generous amount of white vinegar onto the affected area and allow it to soak for approximately 5 minutes. Take a toothbrush and rub it gently into the area to help loosen the stain. Rinse it off with cold water and repeat the process until stain fades away.
Once the stain has been removed, give apron a good wash. Use hot water and the strongest detergent available, since this will help to ensure all of the remaining residue is removed. Allow the apron to air dry and admire your restored apron.
