What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Paper towels, rags, or a sponge
  • Baking Soda

Step 1: Test the Vinegar and Determine the Stain's Removal Process

It is important to test the vinegar solution first on an inconspicuous part of the appliance before going in full-force to remove the stain. This will ensure that vinegar won't damage the finish of the appliance. To do this, combine one part white vinegar with one part water in a spray bottle and spray it onto the area. After 10 minutes, wipe away and check for any discoloration or damage.

Step 2: Remove the Stained Area

Once you have tested the vinegar and determined that it is safe to use, it is time to remove the stained area. To do this, spray the stained area with the vinegar solution and let sit for 10 minutes. If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can also sprinkle some baking soda onto the area and let it sit for an additional 10 minutes.

Step 3: Wipe Away Any Staining

Once you have allowed the vinegar and baking soda to sit, you can begin to clean away the wine stain. Using either paper towels, rags, or a sponge, wipe away stain until it is removed. If the stain is still present, you can repeat the process until the stain is gone.

Step 4: Rinse Away Any Residue

When the stain is completely removed, use a damp cloth to rinse the area and remove any remaining residue. Once you are finished, let area air-dry.
