Getting Rid of Wildflower Stains on Your Uniforms

Supplies You'll Need

  • Liquid detergent
  • White vinegar
  • A soft-bristle brush or cloth
  • Salt
  • Hydrogen peroxide

Cleaning Instructions

  1. Start by rubbing a liquid detergent over the stained area.
  2. If this doesn't work, mix equal parts white vinegar and salt into a paste and rub it into the stained area.
  3. Let this sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
  4. Rub the stained area gently with a cloth or soft-bristled brush.
  5. If the stain persists, soak fabric in a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and liquid detergent for about one hour.
  6. Wash uniform as usual and hang it to dry.

Prevent Future Wildflower Stains

  • Whenever possible, cover any clothing or uniforms that may contact wildflowers.
  • Avoid using harsh detergents on fabrics that may come into contact with wildflowers.
  • Spot-test any cleaning solution you use on delicate fabrics.
