When it comes to removing a wildflower stain from a sweatshirt, it's always best to pre-treat the stain as soon as possible. Pre-treating helps to break down the stain, making it easier to remove. This step is important for all types of stain removal.
To pre-treat the stain, mix together one part dish soap and three parts hydrogen peroxide. Using a white cloth or sponge, apply the mixture directly to the stain. Allow the mixture to sit for three minutes before rinsing with cold water.
If the stain is still visible after pre-treating, you can try using Oxiclean. Mix one scoop of Oxiclean powder with one gallon of warm water and soak the entire sweatshirt in the solution for two hours. Rinse the garment with cool water afterwards.
If stain is still not gone, try using a combination of white vinegar and a natural enzyme detergent. Soak the stained area in the mixture for 30 minutes, then rinse the garment with cold water. If the stain persists, move on to the next step.
Borax is the last line of defense when it comes to stubborn stains. Mix one part Borax with two parts cold water, and then use a clean cloth to rub the mixture into the garment. Let it sit for an hour, then rinse with cold water. Repeat this process as needed until the stain is gone.
Removing wildflower stains from a sweatshirt is a tedious process, but it's important to take the time to do it right way. With right cleaning supplies and a bit of elbow grease, you can get those stains out for good.
