The first step to removing a wildflower stain from a sweater is to pre-treat it with cold water. Immediately after the stain occurs, run cold water over the affected area for several minutes. This will rinse away as much of stain as possible before it has a chance to set in. Once the water runs clear, dab the area dry.
If cold water alone doesn't do the trick, then you may need to use a commercial stain remover. Be sure to read the labels on any products that you buy to make sure they are safe for use on wool or other delicate fabrics. Once you have chosen a product, follow the instructions on the label to apply the stain remover directly to the affected area. This should help to break up stain and make it easier to remove.
Once you have pre-treated the stained area with cold water and a stain remover, you should be able to remove the stain completely by washing the sweater in the washing machine. Choose a gentle detergent and a delicate cycle for best results. You may also want to add some white vinegar to the wash cycle, which can help to remove stubborn stains.
In some cases, the stain may persist even after it has been washed. If this happens, try treating area with a stain remover again. Be sure to let the stain remover sit on the stain for several minutes before rinsing off with cold water and running the garment through the wash. Repeat this process until the stain is completely gone.
