The first thing you need to do is remove any visible stains. Begin by scraping off any remaining petals, leaves, and stems by using an old toothbrush or soft brush to gently scrub away the debris. Once all bigger bits have been removed, dampen a cloth with lukewarm water and clean the surface.
In a large bowl or basin, mix together two tablespoons of laundry detergent with a quart of warm water. Place shoes in the mix and allow them to soak for 30 minutes. You can give them a gentle swish or two to make sure that the detergent really gets down into the fabric and fibers.
Remove the shoes from the laundry detergent mix and rinse them off with clean water. Wipe away any excess moisture with a wet towel, then lay them flat to air dry. Do not use the dryer or place them near a heat source since this may damage the fabric and cause shrinking.
