Using Soap

Lightly scrub the stain with a mild detergent, such as laundry soap or dishwashing liquid, and press gently with a soft cloth. If soap does not remove the stain, try lightening it.

Using Vinegar

If the stain is still visible after washing and scrubbing, mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water and dab it onto the stain. Allow the mixture to sit on fabric for 5-10 minutes, then rinse area.

Using Salt and Lemon Juice

Mix together 1 teaspoon of salt with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Apply the mixture to the stain, and allow it to sit for 20 minutes or so. Rinse again with cold water.

Using Baking Soda

Mix a paste of baking soda and water, and apply it to the stain. Rub it in gently, and let it sit for a few minutes. Dab spot with clean, cold water and wipe the area with a clean towel.

Using Commercial Stain Remover

If all else fails, try using a commercial stain remover. Read instructions on the package carefully before applying product to the fabric.

Cleaning Tips for Wildflower Stains

  • Treat the stain immediately, as soon as possible. Letting it set increases chances that the stain will become permanent.
  • Test any cleaning product prior to use to make sure it won't damage the fabric.
  • Avoid rubbing the area too much, as this can cause the stain to spread.
  • Be patient and give the cleaning product time to work.
