Your shift dress is timeless and elegant – and you love wearing it out. However, wildflower spills, though common, can leave stubborn and hard-to-remove stains. The good news is, these stains can often be removed with a few simple steps.

Steps To Remove Wildflower Stains From A Shift Dress

  1. Check the care instructions before you start. Before attempting to remove a wildflower stain from your shift dress, check the tag for any specific instructions. Some materials, like silk, may require special and more gentle treatments.
  2. Blot stained area with a paper towel. Use a clean paper towel or cloth to blot the stained area and absorb as much of the wildflower residue as possible. When blotting the stain, be sure to apply pressure on the fabric and move outward from the center in a circular motion.
  3. Create a mixture of liquid dish soap, water and white vinegar. Mix together one teaspoon of liquid dish soap, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and one cup of warm water. Using a gentle motion, apply this mixture to stained area, being sure to thoroughly saturate the fabric.
  4. Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes. Once the fabric has been saturated, let the solution sit for 10 minutes before attempting to further clean stain.
  5. Rinse the fabric with cold water. After the mixture has been sitting for 10 minutes, rinse the fabric with cold water. You may need to repeat this step a few times to ensure all residue has been removed.
  6. Wash your dress according to the care instructions. After the stain has been removed, you can now wash the dress according to the care instructions on label. Be sure to add an appropriate detergent according to the fabric type.

After following these steps, your shift dress should be free of any wildflower stains!
