Wildflower stains are common, especially on pale muslin fabric. But, that doesn't mean you have to write off your favorite muslin piece as a lost cause. There are many ways to clean wildflower stains out of muslin without having to sacrifice the quality of the fabric.

Step 1: Pre-treat the Stain

The first step in removing wildflower stains from muslin is to pre-treat stain. To do this, use an enzyme-based pre-treatment product or make a paste using baking soda, water, and white vinegar. For particularly tough stains, use a grease-cutting dish soap.

Once the pre-treatment product has been applied, allow it to sit for five minutes before dabbing at the stain with a damp cloth. Be sure not to rub the material, as this may cause more damage. Once you’ve tried to remove as much of the stain as possible, rinse the area with cold water and wring out any excess liquid.

Step 2: Wash the Fabric

Once pre-treatment has been applied and rinsed, it’s time to wash the fabric. The best way to remove wildflower stains is to use hot water and a gentle detergent designed for delicates. If possible, opt for a detergent that offers stain-fighting properties, and use an extra scoop of detergent to help break up any stubborn stains.

Toss the fabric in the washing machine and allow it to run through a full cycle, then transfer it to the dryer. If possible, select a low-heat or delicate setting. When the fabric is finished drying, inspect it for any remaining stains. If you still see stains, repeat Steps 1 and 2 until the fabric is completely clean.

Step 3: Protective Treatment

To keep your muslin fabric looking great, you may want to apply a protective treatment once you’re finished cleaning. Choose a waterproofing product that is specifically designed for delicates, as these products will not damage the fabric. Apply the product according to the instructions on the package, then allow the fabric to air dry before putting it back into use.

And there you have it! With these three steps, you can easily remove wildflower stains from muslin fabric and keep your favorite pieces looking their best.
