If the wildflower stains have dried, you should start by vacuuming the mattress thoroughly. Use the upholstery brush attachment if available. This will help to remove any loose particles. Once done, sprinkle some baking soda on the area, let it sit for an hour or so, and then vacuum again.
For fresh wet stains, start by cleaning off as much of the wildflower residue as possible with a damp cloth. Then, mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray mixture onto the affected area and let it sit for 10 minutes. After the time has passed, use a clean, damp cloth to sponge area. Finally, stand the mattress upright and allow it to air-dry completely.
If the stain is still visible after trying the above methods, you may need to resort to a more powerful cleaner. Make a paste using 3 parts baking soda and 1 part water and apply it to the stain. Allow it to sit for around 15-20 minutes, and then scrub the paste off using a soft-bristled brush. Wipe the area with a damp cloth and leave it to dry.
The best way to deal with wildflower stains is to prevent them from occurring in the first place. Before bringing wildflowers into your home, make sure to cover your bed with a mattresses protector or a plastic sheet. This will protect your mattress from any potential stains.
