What You'll Need

  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Liquid Dish Soap
  • A Bowl/Sink
  • Old Toothbrush
  • Hair Dryer (Optional)

Wash Method

The washing method is the easiest and most cost-effective way to clean your hair ties. Start by filling a bowl or sink with warm water. Once filled, add a few drops of liquid dish soap to water. Then, add your hair ties to the water and allow them to soak for 10 minutes.

After soaking, use an old toothbrush to lightly scrub the dye off of the hair tie. Make sure to go gentle and not to rub too hard as this may damage your hair ties. Once you have finished scrubbing, rinse hair ties off with cold water. Hang them to dry, or if you are in a rush, use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process.

Alcohol Method

If the washing method doesn't quite cut it, the alcohol method is the next best solution. Start by pouring some rubbing alcohol into a bowl and submerging the hair ties into it. Allow hair ties to soak for 10-15 minutes.

Once the hair ties are done soaking, grab an old toothbrush and lightly scrub the dye off the hair ties. Rinse with cold water and let hair ties air dry.

Conclusion

Wildflower stains on hair ties can be a pain to remove, but with these easy methods, you'll have your hair ties looking good as new in no time. All you need is some rubbing alcohol, liquid dish soap, a bowl, an old toothbrush, and a hair dryer and you're good to go!
