What You Need
- Oxygen-based bleach
- Laundry detergent
- White cloth
- Distilled white vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- If your gown is dry-clean-only, take it to a professional cleaner.
- If your gown is washable and already stained, it’s best to pre-treat area with oxygen-based bleach.
- If the stain has set, mix a few drops of laundry detergent into a cup of warm water and use a white cloth to dab soapy mixture onto the stained area, working from the outside in. Do not rub the fabric as this can spread the stain.
- After you have pre-treated, launder the gown according to instructions on care label. Add some extra oxygen-based bleach before starting the wash.
- If stain persists, mix one part distilled white vinegar with three parts warm water and soak the stained area for 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water and allow the garment to air-dry outside in the sun.
