Materials Needed

  • A small bowl
  • A mild laundry detergent
  • A sponge or microfiber cloth
  • A toothbrush

Step 1: Preparing Cleaning Solution

Fill the bowl with warm water and add 1-2 teaspoons of mild laundry detergent. Mix the solution with your hand until it forms suds.

Step 2: Applying the Solution

Dip the sponge or microfiber cloth into the cleaning solution, making sure that it is completely soaked. Gently scrub the stained area of the earplug with the cloth or sponge in a circular motion.

Step 3: Cleaning the Inside of the Earplug

The inside of the earplug is usually where most of the wildflower staining occurs. Carefully insert toothbrush into opening of the earplug and scrub the inside with the same circular motion. Be sure to pay special attention to the hardest-to-reach areas.

Step 4: Rinsing and Drying the Earplugs

Once you have finished scrubbing, rinse the earplugs under lukewarm running water. Shake off any excess water and place them on a towel to air dry. You should now see a noticeable difference in the brightness of the earplug. Repeat the process if necessary.
