The first step in tackling wildflower stains on Dobby fabric is to flush the fabric with plenty of cold water. This can sometimes be enough to lift the stain and remove it entirely.
If plain water doesn’t do the trick, the next step is to mix a few drops of dish soap with cold water and apply it directly to the stain. Let the solution sit for 10 minutes before blotting it off with a damp towel.
For stubborn wildflower stains, you might need to try rubbing alcohol. Again, apply it directly to the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes before blotting it off. Be sure to use a cold, damp cloth and only use rubbing alcohol on items that are safe for dry cleaning.
For deep-set wildflower stains, a salt and vinegar solution can do wonders. Combine equal parts salt and white vinegar and stir until the salt has dissolved. Apply the solution directly to the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes. Blot off the solution with a damp cloth afterwards.
If all else fails, you might need to try a chemical cleaner such as a dry cleaning solvent. Dilute the solvent according to package instructions and apply it directly to the stain. Follow up by blotting with a clean, damp cloth.
No matter what kind of wildflower stain you’re dealing with, there’s no need to worry. With the five methods outlined above, you’ll have your Dobby fabrics looking good as new in no time.
