Step 1: Pre-treat the Stain

Mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and cold water. Dip a soft cloth in the solution and dab it over the stain. This will prevent stain from setting in, giving you the best chance of completely removing it. Let the pre-treated area sit for 5-10 minutes.

Step 2: Rinse with Cold Water

Rinse the pre-treated area with cold water and dab it dry with a clean cloth. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing, as this can cause the stain to spread or set deeper into the fabric.

Step 3: Wash on Cold Setting

Toss your chinos in the washing machine on the coldest setting. Use a mild laundry detergent and add a cup of white vinegar to the machine. This will strengthen cleaning power of detergent and help lift the stain. Let your chinos air-dry or dry them on the lowest heat setting.

Step 4: Launder Again if Necessary

Depending on the severity of the stain, you may need to launder chinos one more time. If so, repeat the third step and check for signs of remaining stain. If it's still present, apply a spot treatment (like stain remover) and repeat the washing process again.
