Step One: Blot Up the Excess Wine
Using a white cloth or paper towel, start by blotting up any excess wine that may remain on the surface. Be sure not to rub the stain, as this will spread it further and make removal more difficult. Continue blotting until no more liquid can be removed.
Step Two: Create a Mixture of Salt and Lemon Juice
Mix 2 tablespoons of salt with 1 cup of fresh lemon juice and stir until well blended. Then, pour the mixture onto the stained area and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Step Three: Rinse the Stain with Cold Water
Once 10 minutes have passed, rinse the area with cold water.
Step Four: Launder the Voile
After stain has been rinsed, launder the voile according to the care instructions. Use the proper laundry detergent for the type of fabric, and be sure to add a color-safe bleach if available.
Step Five: Allow the Voile to Dry
Finally, allow voile to air-dry and inspect for any remaining stains. If any are still visible, repeat steps one through four until the stain is completely gone.
