Before getting started, make sure you collect all the supplies you'll need for stain removal:
Start by turning your uniform inside out, then rinse it with cold water. This step helps to flush away any wine residue that may have stuck to the fabric.
Once complete, turn it right side out and lay it flat on a thick cloth. Then, mix a solution of one scoop of laundry detergent with one quart of warm water and gently spread it over the stained area with an old cloth. Wait for about 15 minutes before proceeding to remove the stain.
If your uniform has a colored design or is made from delicate fabrics, skip this step entirely. Otherwise, pour one tablespoon of household chlorine bleach over the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water.
The chlorine bleach should help lighten the stain, but if it persists, use one part white vinegar and two parts cold water and dab the stained area with a cloth soaked in the mixture. You can also use a soft-bristled brush to loosen the stubborn stain.
Finally, rinse your uniform with cold water and allow it to dry. If the stain is still present after it has been washed, repeat the process one more time until the stain is completely removed.
