The first step to removing white wine stains from tussah is gathering the materials that you'll need. Make sure you have on hand:
Once you have the supplies that you need, start by treating the stain with white vinegar. Pour a small amount of vinegar directly onto the stain, and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. The vinegar will help to penetrate and break down the stain, making it easier to remove.
After the vinegar has had a chance to work, rinse tussah with cold water. Place a few paper towels or a clean, white cloth underneath the fabric to absorb the stain as much as possible. Continue to rinse and blot the fabric until you can no longer tell that there was a stain.
If stain is still visible, you can try sprinkling baking soda directly onto fabric and gently scrubbing it in with a soft cloth. Let the baking soda sit for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water. Repeat rinsing and blotting process until the stain is completely gone.
Finally, if the stain is still lingering, wash the fabric with laundry detergent in cold water. Air dry fabric, and then check to see if any trace of the stain remains. If so, repeat steps above until the stain is fully removed.
White wine stains on tussah can be annoying and difficult to remove, but they can be treated with the right supplies and techniques. Follow the steps outlined above, and you'll be able to get rid of those pesky wine stains in no time at all.
