Chances are if you notice the stain right away and act fast, stain will be much easier to remove. If it's still wet, start by blotting excess liquid off with paper towels. Do not rub area or it could set the stain in.
Fill a sink or bucket with cold water and add a couple drops of mild detergent. Soak the stained area in the mixture for 30 minutes. Check every 10 minutes to make sure the fabric doesn't turn to a different color.
Once the item has finished soaking, mix together a small amount of gentle detergent or soap with a tablespoon of white vinegar. Apply this mixture to the stained area and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then rinse with cold water.
Pat area with a clean cloth to remove as much moisture from fabric as possible. Then add a teaspoon of ammonia to a cup of warm water and use a clean cloth to apply the mixture to the stained area. Blot with towel, then rinse with cold water.
Once the stain is completely removed, wash the garment as directed. Check the label inside to determine specific instructions. Air dry the item to finish.
