The first step to removing a white wine stain is getting rid of any excess wine with cold water or a dry cloth. Then, apply a small amount of dishwashing liquid to the stain and gently massage it in with a soft brush. You should start to see the stain break down and dissolve. If the stain still remains, you may need to use a stronger cleaner.

To do this, combine equal parts white vinegar and warm water and pour the mixture over stained area. Let the solution sit for 10-15 minutes before washing the garment with a regular detergent. It is important to follow the instructions on the care label of garment.

If above methods do not work, you can try a harsher cleaner like bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Be sure to test cleaner on an inconspicuous area of the garment first, as some fabrics may be too delicate and bleach or hydrogen peroxide may be too strong. If the test area passes, follow the directions on the cleaner’s package to apply it to the stain.

After the stain has been removed, it is important to avoid putting the garment in the dryer until the stain has been fully removed. The heat from dryer can set the stain, making it impossible to remove later.
