Step 1: Act Fast!

White wine stains that are treated quickly have the best results, so don't wait to start cleaning up your stain. Blot away as much of the wine as you can with a clean cloth or paper towel.

Step 2: Make a Solution

Mix a solution of ¼ teaspoon of washing up liquid and one cup of cold water in a bowl. Soak a clean cloth in the mixture and gently dab the stained area, working your way outward.

Step 3: Rinse and Repeat

After dabbing the stain with the soapy solution, rinse the fabric with cold water. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you can no longer see the stain. Avoid scrubbing the stain as this could cause further damage to the fabric.

Step 4: Dry the Fabric

Once you’ve removed the stain, let the fabric air dry completely. If the stain does not come out completely with the previous steps, you may need to repeat the process before the fabric is completely dry.

Step 5: Final Steps

Once the fabric has dried, test a small, hidden area of the fabric with some spot-cleaning detergent. If there is no discoloration, then you can proceed with washing the fabric as usual. As a precaution, you may also want to use a stain remover designed specifically for delicate fabrics.
