Method 1: Blot Immediately with a Clean White Cloth

Your first step towards removing white wine stains is to act fast. As soon as spill occurs, blot the stained area with a clean, white cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the liquid as possible.

Method 2: Use White Wine to Disguise the Stain

If the stain has already been absorbed into the fabric, pour a small amount of white wine onto the stained area and use a clean cloth or sponge to dab it in circles. This method may disguise the stain, however it should not be considered a permanent solution.

Method 3: Pretreat with a Laundry Stain Remover

Choose a laundry stain remover that is suitable for type of fabric that your sundress is made of. Pretreat stain by applying the solution to stained area and gently rubbing it in with a clean cloth. Then, allow time for the product to take effect (this will depend on the specific product) before washing.

Method 4: Wash with Cold Water and Detergent

Washing your sundress with cold water is essential for removing white wine stains. Add a regular laundry detergent to the washing machine and set the cycle to a gentle setting to avoid damage to the fabric.

Method 5: Try a Solution of Baking Soda and Water

Create a solution of baking soda and water and use a clean cloth to apply it to the stained area. Gently rub solution into fabric until the stain begins to loosen. Then, rinse sundress in cold water before washing as normal.

Method 6: Use Club Soda

Like white wine, club soda has acidic properties which help to dislodge white wine stains. Pour some directly onto the stain, then use a clean cloth or sponge to dab at the area gently. Finally, rinse sundress in cold water and wash as normal.

Method 7: Spot Treatment with Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is an effective stain remover and it is safe to use on most fabrics. Wet a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and blot stained area until it starts to lighten. Then, wash sundress with cold water and detergent as usual.
